1. 授業概要
大学を中心とした研究機関から創出される科学技術は、新事業創造のための「知」の源泉である。本講義においては、研究機関において、科学技術に関する「知」がいかにして産み出され、またその産み出された「知」からいかにして、ベンチャー企業を含めた産業が創出されるのかについて扱う。この授業では、社会科学 (経済学、経営学等)の先端的な研究をベースに、科学技術に関するビジネス及び政策について議論する 。
この授業は、米国の大学院で一般的なセミナー形式である。毎回講師がその分野の先端的な定量分析の英語の論文を3本程度指定し、履修者は事前にその論文を読み込むことが求められる。また学期を通じて1、2回程度、履修者は指定された論文の概要をプレゼンテーションにまとめ、発表することが求められる。各回は、講師による講義、学生による発表、論文の内容に関するディスカッション により構成される。最終課題として、定量分析を前提とした研究計画の発表が求められる。
なお、この授業は、本来であれば博士課程レベルの内容をMBAの学生に提供するものであり、負荷の高い授業であることが予測されるので、そのことを了解した者のみ履修して欲しい。
2. 授業の到達目標
- 科学技術とアントレプレナーシップの研究分野に関する必要な知識を体系的に理解する
- 科学技術とアントレプレナーシップに関する理論を実務へ応用できるようになる
- 科学技術とアントレプレナーシップの研究分野に関する”state of the art”(最先端の知見)を理解する
- 定量分析の論文を読む込みためのスキルを身につける
- 定量分析の論文の妥当性を評価するためのスキルを身につける
- 修士論文に相応しい研究テーマを見つける
- 修士論文をまとめるにあたって必要な研究を行うためのスキルを身につける
- MBA修了後も自分の力でアカデミックな理論を学び続ける力を身につける
3.事前・事後学習の内容
各回の授業では、予習として指定された英語の論文3本のうち少なくとも1本読み込んでくることが求められる。この予習には英語が得意なものであれば各回3時間程度、英語が苦手な者であればそれ以上の時間を割くことが必要となる。履修者による論文のプレゼンテーションの準備には、英語が得意なものであれば5時間程度、英語が苦手な者であればそれ以上の時間を割くことが必要となる。最終課題は、3時間程度の準備が想定される。
英語が得意でないものは極めて負荷の高い授業である。また定量論文を読み込むためには、因果関係の推論などの科学的な思考力が求められる。その訓練をあまりしていない者は、他の履修者よりもより準備に時間を割いてもらうことが前提となる。

5. 教科書
授業担当者が厳選した論文リストを提供する。授業時に翌週までの論文を印刷したものを配布する。また履修者にはDropboxを活用してオリジナルのPDFを提供する。

7. 成績評価方法
- クラスでの貢献点: 25%
- 授業時における議論の貢献度を評価する。量のみでなく質も考慮。
- 事前課題のサマリー: 25%
- 各回、指定された論文について、A4 1ページのサマリーの提出が求められる。
- クラス内での論文プレゼンテーション: 25%
- 学期に数回程度、指定された論文についての発表を行うことが求められる。
- 最終発表・最終レポート: 25%
- 定量分析を前提とした研究計画の発表

- 最新版のシラバスはウェブにて公開されている。常にそちらを確認すること。このシラバスは今後適宜変更を行う。
- 初回までの事前課題があるので、事前に事務室を訪問すること。
- 授業は全てディスカッション形式である。必ず各回の授業の準備をしっかり行ってくること。議論の質は担当教員の力以外にも、履修者の準備の量によって規定される。
- この授業は、時間通りに開始し、可能な限り時間通りに終了する。授業の質を下げないために、履修者は時間を守ること。
- 全授業に出席することを前提としている。もし欠席する場合には、授業のスタッフMLまで事前に連絡すること。欠席した際には、カバーした内容を自分で責任持って学習すること。
- 各回の授業終了後には懇親会を開催する。授業後に読んだ論文の議論や各自の研究テーマの議論をすることは有益である。
